Originally studying to become a general surgeon, Crystal Iglar traded in her scalpel for a set of drawing pencils and hasn’t looked back. A recent 2004 graduate with a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in Graphic Design and Multi-Media, Crystal is a Graphic Designer at a trade publisher by day and a freelance illustrator/designer by night. “I've always been an artist - I remember my mom's reaction when I decorated the goodie bags for one of my elementary school birthdays, and from then on I spent hours drawing. Today, I love having freelance work because each job brings on a new idea, a new thought, a new process” This project was no different for Crystal, with the added benefit of centering around one of her favorite times of the year. “When I think of the holidays, I immediately think of eggnog, the warmth of the fireplace, overeating, and spending time with loved ones. The holidays are precious, and I wanted to create cards that were unique, and fun, but that would also highlight the individual images placed in the frames." Crystal resides in northern New Jersey. She spends her free time running, playing with her Pomeranian-Chihuahua Marley, listening to music, and seeing her boyfriend Kurt.
